NEW! This program is for the outdoor enthusiasts! South Portland’s very own Park Ranger April Bolstridge will take a group of middle schoolers to Bradburry Mountain in Freeport to hike, explore and learn key skills to survive in the wild. April will show them Orienteering which involves using a compass and map to determine location. She will show them basics of the forest from plants to animals and how to reduce carbon footprint. The day will end at Wainwright where the kids will gather wood and learn to build a fire. Hikers should bring comfy clothes, good walking shoes, a lunch and water bottle. Snacks will be provided. Minimum 5/Maximum 10
