Evergreen Credit Union Financial Wellness Workshops

South Portland Parks, Recreation and Waterfront has teamed by with the wellness team at Evergreen Credit Union to offer affordable financial workshops to help adults in the community better understand their personal finances. Evergreen will be hosting a financial wellness workshop once a month. Each month Evergreen staff will raffle at least one item to all those who partake in that workshop. Items will range from local sports tickets to local business merchandise.   
Minimum of 5 / Maximum of 30.
Registration will close the Thursday (end of day) prior to each event.


Where Does Your Money Go? - September 29 Workshop
Explore your monthly fixed and flexible expenses, the value of budgeting, and identify areas for additional saving. You'll receive an easy to use form that will show you what your bottom line is.

Mortgages & Mortgage Refinancing - October 27 Workshop
Explore homeownership costs and benefits, the types of home loans available to you, and how to secure a mortgage. Get a sense of how refinancing your mortgage may help reduce your monthly payments.

The Importance of Saving and Writing A Living Will - November 24 Workshop
Explore ways to change your daily spending habits and build emergency savings over time. Learn about savings account options and developing habits to help meet your financial goals and what to do to ensure you protect your loved ones financially.

Retirement & Investment Savings - Rescheduled for Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 from 6:00pm
Learn how to save for retirement, money market accounts, about cd’s, IRA’s, and Investing. It's never too late to start planning for retirement. We'll not only help you get started; we'll talk about why you need to think about retirement today.

Identity Protection - February 9 Workshop
Learn how to protect yourself from consumer fraud and identity theft.

Your Money 101 for Young Adults (Ages 14+) - March 9 Workshop
Learn the importance of handling money, the benefits of compounded interest savings, obtaining credit, student loans and developing wise habits to help meet your financial goals.
*High school students are welcome to attend with their parent or guardian

Auto Loans & Refinancing - April 13 Workshop
Learn how to shop for the right vehicle at the best rate available. Explore the option of refinancing your vehicle.

Credit Scores & Credit Reports - May 11 Workshop
Learn the importance of your credit score, ways to protect it, and factors that impact your credit report.
