GRADES 5-6 TRAVEL BASKETBALL

All basketball players in grades 5 and 6 have the opportunity to try out for a travel team. The Travel League, sponsored by Cape Elizabeth Community Services, involves teams from surrounding communities and is a competitive program. Standings are kept and all teams participate in a double elimination playoff at the end of the season. A league champion and runner up are awarded in each age/gender division. This year South Portland Parks & Recreation will be sponsoring 1 team at each grade level: Girls 5th, Girls 6th, Boys 5th and Boys 6th. After players are placed on teams, games and practices will begin in early November. Teams will practice or play games as often as three times a week. The league season runs from early November to early March. This is a large commitment and although South Portland Parks & Recreation stresses skill development, this is a competitive program. ALL GAMES ARE ON WEEKENDS.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE - OCTOBER 9th!
ALL players interested in playing on a South Portland Rec Travel Team are REQUIRED to attend the evaluation night (see info below). Participants who do not make a team will be promptly refunded or account credited.
Parent Information Night
Parents who have questions or are not familiar with the Cape Elizabeth Community Services Travel Basketball League are encouraged to attend this meeting to get a better sense of what the program entails and to see if this league is the right fit for their child.

Season Details
Games: season mid November - early March (all games on weekends). Game schedule available late October.
Practices: 1-2 times per week in the evenings (day/time TBD). Schedule available mid October.
Evaluation Day/Time
