An afternoon tea w/ home baked pastries and cookies, plus a 45-minute talk on Harriet Beecher Stowe. This lecture will give a well-rounded look at the background, the life and family of Harriet Beecher Stowe, enabling attendees to see the personal events which led up to the writing of her most famous book, Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Presenter Cathi Belcher worked for Bowdoin College as the Educator and Coordinator of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House.
