How did sand dunes end up in the middle of a forest? And, how did this unique and beautiful landscape become a tourist attraction? Learn the natural history and meet the quirky characters that made the Desert of Maine a world-class oddity.  We will have a guided walking tour of the desert and then have time to sit and have our picnic lunch.  You must wear your mask on the bus to and from the location and whenever social distancing is not possible.  Please bring your own water and snack as well as your lunch as none will be provided at this time.
