Join the park rangers and the South Portland librarians for guided story walks through Hinckley Park this season!
Each walk is roughly .25 miles on the unpaved trails of Hinckley. We will all walk together, reading a story about a native Maine animal along the way. At the end, we will learn more about the animal featured in the story through games or activities! The stories for each date are listed below:
June 10th: A Blanding's Turtle Story
August 19th: A Little Brown Bat Story
September 23rd: A Monarch Butterfly Story*
*The butterfly story walk will be a part of a bigger event at Hinckley that day, Pollinator Bioblitz! Join for the story and stay for several other pollinator related activities.
These are all free walks, open to all ages. Strollers are not recommended. Meet at the entrance to the park by 10am to join!
