Scarecrows are coming back to Hinckley Park this October! And this year, we have two different options for you to build a scarecrow to display.

OPTION 1: SCARECROW BUILDING DAY
Saturday, September 28th
10am-12pm
Hinckley Park
$35R/$45NR per scarecrow


Participants of the scarecrow building day will receive all the basic materials needed to build and decorate a scarecrow (straw, pants, shirt, burlap sack head, markers & paint) and you are encouraged to bring other items to customize your creation! Parks and Rec staff will be there to help walk you through the process and hang your scarecrow up. 


OPTION 2: SCARECROW KIT DELIVERY
$45 RESIDENTS ONLY

If you can't make the building day but still want to create a scarecrow, this option is for you. We will drop off all the basic scarecrow materials along with instructions to you, give you time to build/decorate, and pick up the completed scarecrow to put up in Hinckley.

This option is recommended for businesses or organizations who want to participate!

Time line:
9/6 register by this date
9/13 building materials will be dropped off to you
9/26-27 we will come by to pick up your completed scarecrow




Each registration (either option) will get your group the materials for 1 scarecrow, so no need to register everyone. You are welcome to use additional items to personalize your scarecrow as well! After you are done, we will hang up your scarecrow in the Scarecrow Patch for park visitors to enjoy. 

Already have your own materials and want to add your scarecrow to the display at Hinckley Park? Email Sydney at sraftery@southportland.org to coordinate a drop off time before 9/27!
