2023 Art in the Park

This event is currently wait list only.

The 44th Annual South Portland Art in the Park Show & Sale will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Mill Creek Park from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Artists may check-in starting at 7:00 a.m.

Art in the Park is open to all artists who wish to exhibit original PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS, PHOTOGRAPHS and PRINTS. Please be aware this is considered a “fine art” show and works will be carefully considered before being allowed.

The artists’ section of the park will accommodate up to 170 artists while allowing plenty of room for relaxed viewing by the public. Therefore, only the first 170 applicants will be accepted. A reserve list may be established. Artists submitting entries after July 15th, 2024 will not be listed in the festival brochure. Information can also be obtained by logging on to our web page at www.artintheparkmaine.com or on our Facebook page at South Portland Art in the Park.

Judging:
There will be a Judges’ Cash Award Competition. All exhibitors, regardless of whether they enter the Judges’ Cash Award Competition or designate works as Sponsor’s Choice selections, must submit an official entry form and pay the $125 entry fee.

FEES:
All Exhibitors regardless of whether they enter prize competition, MUST pay the $125.00 fee to exhibit.  If you would like to include an ad, the cost is $160.00 (entry fee plus ad).

Ad copy must be in either .JPG or PDF format and may be emailed separately to Jenna Martyn-Fisher - jfisher@southportland.org. Ad copy must be received by July 15, 2024.

Confirmation of Registration:
Submitting an application does not guarantee your acceptance into the show. You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your acceptance with your site number within two weeks of submitting your application.

If the committee determines your work does not meet the criteria of the show, all fees submitted with your application will be refunded.

Refunds:
If you cancel before July 15th, you will be refunded $100.00; Art in the Park will retain the $35.00 advertising fee (if purchased) and a $25.00 administrative fee. If you cancel on or after July 15th, you will be refunded $100.00 only if another artist registers for your spot.

Student Artists
The $125 entry fee will be waived for students attending public school in South Portland; however, these students will be ineligible for a Judge's cash award and/or Sponsor's Choice selection unless they pay the $125 fee. If you're a student artist looking to exhibit at no cost, please complete the hard copy artist application and send directly to Jenna Martyn-Fisher at jfisher@southportland.org.

Non-traditional Artists
We are limited to only 7 spots for non-traditional artists (pottery (4), sculpture (3)). All applicants for this area must be submitted by February 26. If more applications are received than space available, artists will be determined using a lottery to fill available spaces.
