Home fires are by far the most common disaster nationwide; the Red Cross responds to nearly 60,000 annually. On average, 7 people die in home fires every day, and 2023 saw a record number of deaths in Maine. This Red Cross training explores common causes of home fires and the importance of smoke alarms and escape plans. It can help you prevent fires outright and prevent injury or loss of life when they do occur.
